Polegas Raised Dog Bowl Stand Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Why We Got It

Ice is a large Alaskan Malamute, and at a certain point he decided the water bowl was something to dig through rather than drink from. Water everywhere. Every time.

We needed a raised stand that could be secured — not just sat on the floor to be flipped at will. The Polegas ticked two important boxes: it was cheap, and being plastic, it was easy to screw directly into the wall to stop it moving.

The Practical Bit

The stand is adjustable across 5 height settings. Ice is a big dog now and we have it at maximum height, which is where it'll stay. The adjustability is genuinely useful if you're buying for a puppy that'll grow into it — you can raise it as they do.

It comes with two bowls: a stainless steel one (water) and a plastic slow-feeder bowl (food). Both drop in and lift out easily for washing, which is the main practical advantage over wooden raised stands — no soaking, no warping, just rinse and done.

Does It Look Amazing?

No. It's white plastic and looks like what it is. Wooden raised feeders look nicer on Instagram. But wooden ones also absorb water, stain, and are harder to keep clean. After the third time scrubbing a wooden bowl stand, you start to appreciate easy wipe-down surfaces.

For a large dog who needs a raised bowl and isn't going to be polite about it, function beats form.

The Wall-Mount Trick

The plastic construction made it easy to drill through the back and screw it lightly to the skirting board. Not permanent, not structural — just enough to stop Ice moving it around. This isn't an advertised feature but it's worth knowing if you have a dog that treats their bowl as a toy.

Verdict

Not exciting, but effective. Does the job for a large dog, easy to clean, and cheap enough that you don't feel bad about screwing it to a wall. If you want something that looks good in a styled kitchen, look elsewhere. If you want something that survives a Malamute and hoses down easily, this is it.
